Arc Bernard Amos Lot

Arc Bernard Amos Lot FNIA, MFPRA, MCPMNI, FCAI the Director, Public Building is an accomplished Professional, with an unblemished Public Service Career spanning almost Three Decades.

He was born on 11th of October 1955, in Panyam, Mangu LGA of Plateau State. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science both in Architecture from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in June 1978 and June 1980, respectively. As Director, Public Building, he currently superintends over the implementation of all Public Buildings and Housing in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Viewed alongside his other assignments on Infrastructure Planning and Resettlement, this work schedule has placed Him at a vantage position to significantly contribute not only to the Architectural character of the FCT, but also to its urbanisation. Architect Lot’s all-round experience is also a product of his previous participation in key National assignments such as his membership of the Task Force on Rationalisation and Completion of IDC Building Projects for the Federal Ministry of Industries (1991-1992), Presidential Task Force on the Re-activation of Iwopin Paper Mill (1991-1992), Standards Council Task Force on Capital Projects (1991), Centre for Automotive Design and Development(1992), Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Review of the Alienation of Federal Government Housing Estate, Bosso, Minna (2001-2002) and Presidential Task Force on Export Processing Zones (EPZ) in Nigeria (1992-1994). He subsequently served as Project Coordinator of the Calabar EPZ Project and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Inventory of Federal Government Landed Property in the FCT, among several other National assignments. A consummate Professional, Arc Lot was Head of the Organising Committee on the International Architectural Design Competition for the new City Gate of Abuja.

He also served as Jury Member, Ideas Competition for the Abuja Film Village, and Design Competition for the Federal Inland Revenue Service Headquarters. He is currently a Jury Member for the Architectural Design Competition for the National Secretariat of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.

Having performed the aforementioned tasks with distinction, He is the recipient of several awards and commendations for meritorious service, including professional accolades.

Apart from being a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, and a recipient of the Professional Fellowship Award of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Architect Lot’s multi-faceted professional activities have additionally earned him memberships of the International Federation of Parks Recreation Administration of the United Kingdom IFPRA, and Chartered Project Management Institute of Nigeria CPMIN.
